prof. is currently on a one year leave. In any case, his investments class is fascinating, but there are way too much topics covered in the exams. Although attendance is not mandatory, I suggest you go to class so that you would get a hint of what will be on the exams. Your grade will comprise of 2 exams, a group project and a stock simulation.
He's on leave for a few semesters. He's a very friendly person and seems to explain the material very well, until you get the first exam. Not ONE thing he explained was on the first exam. About 80% of the class literally failed that first exam. Look elsewhere, although I have heard the other prof.s arent much better.
He doesn't teach, doesn't explain how to do the work. You have to study on your own and learn the material to pass his class which only consists of 3 exams.
I first took Rao for Finance 360. Its my major so I was very interested in the subject. He is very soft spoken and commands attention. He is very accommodating but you need to put some effort into the class to pull an "A". The material is complicated, so study difficult if you want to perform well. He is willing to answer questions and meet with students
I took Rao for Investments. He explains the material very well. He will pass by the slides that do not warrant time to talk about. He spends some time trying to motivate the students which is a friendly thing to do. He cares about his students state of mind and performance. Great teacher
Prof Rao definitely knows the material but he spends a lot of time talking about current events. He breezes through the powerpoint slides and decides which ones to talk about but his exams are on all of the slides. You need to study outside of class on your own. His mock investment project is very fascinating but still wouldn't reccommend him.
DO NOT TAKE THIS GUY. I REPEAT, DO NOT TAKE THIS GUY. His exam are ridiculous, tells you to do all the questions from the back of the book and his exam is 3 time as difficult. DO NOT LET HIS friendlyNESS CLOUD YOUR JUDGMENT. This guy is terrible. Has completely no teaching skills. Does not explain any math problems. You are on your own.
This teacher was great. He helped students if they did not understand something and gave a lot of extra credit. Grade consists of three exams only. Learned a lot in this class.
I did not learn a lot from him. When he is not discussing the news, he is reading through the power point slides. 50% of the exams consisted of problems and he spent just about an hour to teach us how to solve them. |
