Dr.Tuck, hmmm. His requirements are either extreme or part of the develpmenta process; depending on your intentions. I took a 100 level class with him that seemed like a 300 level class. If you wish to develop and prepare he is excellent. As a requirement only, DO NOT TAKE HIM. It is absolutely necessary to grasp his principle, not his personality.
He talks like Mr. Macky from South Park I swear he does. I got by with a C without reading and paying attention in class, which is honestly the difficulexam thing in the world for this guy. He teaches fine but he thinks this class is for history majors, I dont think he see's the "section 111" part. Tough, take it your a great b.s.err
Tuck is great! I really enjoyed his class. He expects his students to come to class every meeting and do all the reading. I was grateful for a teacher who actually held students accountable and I really learned alot from the way he exams. His exams are more about understanding the history then memorizing it. Great teacher, but NOT an simple A.
Prof Tuck is an very knowledgable and accommodating instructor. Most people in my class that didnt like him 1) Never read anything assigned or 2) Never came to class and then were shocked they werent getting an A. "This is Northeastern not Northwestern" was a complaint, personally I like a great education/educator for a lower price.
He definitely knows his things. Yes it's a lot of reading and note taking, but your are learning about 54, with over 4,000 years of history in one semester. Do the reading, take notes, go to class, and you'll do fine. I received an "A" in this class, so it's definitely possible. He removes a lot of misconceptions and misinformation about Africa. |
