I don't like to bad mouth teachers, but this is an exception. Dr. Puryear in a word is lazy. Every semester he is keeping a look-out for students to do his research leg work. He speeds through courses and does not take the time to educate his students. He is late, disorganized, and misses courses. I've never met a teacher more unprofessional. |

I have not seen a teacher more disorganized then Puryear, Labs consistantly get delayed, lecture is taught from powerpoint sets containing over 150 slides per chapter, these slides are over 5 years old,he avoids answering questions directly and steers away in different directions,completely ridiculous,favors some students over others, point stickler |

I took a couple of Dr. Puryear and he is not as bad as portrayed on this website at all. Yes, his class is challenging, but if its upper level BIO, what do you expect? I love the essay format exams, because it allows you to explain the answer fully and share any add. info. not given in class. He could use some improvement though, but not bad overal |

A prof. like Terry Puryear negates all the values of teaching(which is to impact knowledge).He takes pride in failing his students.Imagine him proudly saying that half of the class normally drop after the 2nd exam.He cant fit in any other school,they kept him at NEIU because of low Tuition= inferior prof.s.HE IS DEVIL INCARNATE. |

Took him for Endocrinology. Has favorites. Doesn't like women. Exams are VERY difficult. difficult grader. However, may allow you to complete an additional assignment after the end of the semester to change your final grade. |

Dr. Puryear is not a people person at all. I feel that he hold resentment toward life, annd is not objective when grading. I personally knew a handicapped kid who said that the B grade he received was not deserved. He said that he knew of others that deserved a better grade than himself but didn't get it. |
