She was great quality overall. There is a lot of work in her course, but it is to be expected. There were a lot of articles to read and they were all very fascinating. The only problem is that she seemed to go off on tangents a bit and it bored me (sometimes). (she's attractive but not hot)
One minded. Rude on occassion and only focuses on race and sexuality not education but she is intelligent and expects your great
I really learned a lot in this class and found it to be very fascinating for a general level class. Erica was passionate about what she taught, but contrary to others' opinions I do NOT feel that she inflicted her beliefs, rather she would bring up thought-provoking topics that really made you reflect. Definitely recommended
She is passionate and knowledgeable. I felt a little overwhelmed at first, and the reading is intense but the topics are completely relevant to teaching today. I feel like I learned a lot and am better off for taking the class.
WAY too much work for a 1 credit class (4 papers, 2 media projects, lots of reading). Class itself was fascinating & thought provoking, could have been better organized. Erica is great at leading group conversation & clarifying issues. She is very accessible and always willing to work with students except she is slow at returning e-mails.
Although this teacher is *very passionate about public ed, she used the classroom to promote her own agenda and not actually teach about the history of pub.ed. LOTS of reading to do, come prepared to discuss (and get off topic). I wouldn't recommend this class and wish she didn't waste our money/time.
Although she is *very passionate about pub. ed. issues, she used the classroom to promote her personal agenda/beliefs. LOTS of reading involved, 4 articles per week, each 10-40 pgs. Will easily get off topic in class discussions, be unclear about projects, and then grade with a rough eye. Basically a waste of time/money. |
