Giesso's class drags so much and most of the time there's awkward silence in the room. He asks a question and most of the time nobody knows the answer and it's awkward silence in the room and Giesso just stands with his arms folded scanning the class for a response. Class is simple but dull. Do the projects and take great notes to pass.
Dr. Giesso is THE MOST dull prof. I've EVER had! Not only is he dull, but he's VERY unclear about his standards for papers. The syllabus says one thing, but he tells us another. I highly recommend choosing someone other than Giesso for Anthro.
Prof was knowledgeable in material - however his courses seemed winged and therefore painfull slow. I missed courses because I couldn't bear it. Bad move since he really does grade attendance. 3, 4 pg papers & 1, 8 pg book review. Final exam questions were very vague - many students complained about this. Class wasn't difficult just very slow.
prof. Giesso is a great teacher. It is important to attend all courses and take notes. Make sure you do well on tests because the points add up. He is a very friendly man and will work with you if you show respect for the class and the prof.. simple A if you show up and do the work.
prof. Giesso is softspoken and his courses can be dull. However, there is very little work in the class and as long as your show up to class and complete all work it is an simple A for a pre-req.
Martin seems somewhat undirected at times in his courses and this can cause the class to come to a crawl at times. The material is fascinating and I never felt that he lacked any knowledge, just that he friendly of strolled his way through our topics. His projects were three 5-7 page papers, and the mid year exam and final with a few essay questions.
Although, the courses can be a little dry, the content is very great and the prof. is a great guy that knows his things. After, you acclimate to his dry and almost shy humor, the class becomes more enjoyable. Though the daily tests are a little monotonous, they are great for the student, I would take a class with prof. Giesso for sure. |
