Currently taking it during the summer, the class is not simple, but it's not too difficult either. If you pay attention during class and take proper notes, you should be more than prepared for exams. Make sure you know everything he puts on the exam review sheets; his exams are extensive, entirely short answer so he asks about almost everything he covers.
Frankel is super dry, he enjoys being sarcastic sometimes to the point of being unapproachable. He is a tough grader on labs and graphs but impartially lenient on grading exams. One great thing is on his exams he will let you have your choice of several questions to answer, so you can choose the ones you know the most about. He's all right.
Ecology is his thing, so expect to learn a lot about it! You get what you work for in his class ie. if you are going to slack you will not pass, but if you work difficult you will get your A. He's hillarious, willing to help WHEN YOU ASK, and friendlya cute too.
I took it during summer semester.very dry prof.! gives way too much info for 6 weeks class. mentions smth once and expects us to know it for exam.4 exams (pretty much exam every week).exams are free response (crazy looong and difficult!!) study guides are too general - they are useless cuz he always asks what was not mentioned on study guide.
Great guy! SO accommodating. He makes sense, but you HAVE to study the material and do the homework. Students aren't doing that well because they are slacking in this class. hillarious and quirky guy! Makes ecology fascinating. LOTS of labs and writing projects.
Be prepared to do alot of work... difficult grader, he does not curve at ALL.. alot of memorization. alot of busy intence work. |
