He's very vague on what he asks for, like asking for no page limit, but then nails you on not having enough pages. Spends too many time on poems and then lets the brainless know-it-all's take over class discussion while the rest of the class collectively rolls their eyes. Because of this, discussion was a failure. difficult man to read overall. |

Pros: knowledgable, poised, passionate, great-natured, welcomes discussion. Cons: unclear expectations on paper projects ("page limit: no limit"). Had class read text aloud in class, so few read assmts beforehand and were unprepared, lecture/discussion suffered. Get clarification BEFORE exams, and after grading, you should be okay. |

Very great prof., as long as the class is in African Lit., because that's all the seems to know/care about. Doesn't keep to the syllabus, changes his mind about projects at a moments notice, only wants to work with/read things he's personally interested in (i.e. J.M. Coetzee). |
