Ratings speak for themselves, this guys freaking outstanding. VERY clear on what he wants you to do, and accommodating as well. He does move friendly of fast when doing computer exercises, but allows plenty of time to catch up. If he's an option for that class you're taking, move your schedule around to accomodate.

If you go to his class to see your email, facebook, etc, probably you are a stupid(not offense). Focus and try to participate every class. The final grade counts participation and all notes taken during the whole semester. First exams and projects are simple, but the final exam is very competitive. You will learn not to underestimate prof. Andy.

simple class if you pay attention and TAKE NOTES!!! He will surprise you 1 month before the semester ends and ask you to turn in lecture notes. PLUS, everything is open book and open notes so the better notes you have then the better off you are on the exams and tests. simple 'A' as long as you attend and participate. No harm in learning the material

Prof Chen is a intelligent and great teacher. Do not take advantage of his weakness because he knows what u r up to. 50point projects but no homework. Higly recommed him. Not alot of use of textbook

prof. Chen is the MAN (Intelligent and intelligenter than you).Don't be stupid and take notes every class because he will asks you for them at the end of the semester(50 points project). The class is simple, but the final is MEGA difficult(focus in the essay questions and if you have time, start with access, pivot tables and the rest). I recommend him.

Between Charleta and this prof., Andy is 1000000000000000000000 % better. I don't want to compare them but if you go wiht Charleta you will suffer the whole semester. Andy understand the students and more if you don't know Excel, develop a web page or Access. He can explain in detail everything. I recommend Him, you will thank me.

very friendly guy, so much so that people often take advantage. Sometimes has a difficult time getting control of the classroom. I agree that his exam short answer "essay" exam questions are totally random. I also agree that understanding why you are doing what you are doing doesn't usually happen. Even so, Chen is intelligenter than you think and very impartial.

prof. Chen is by far the great prof. at Northeastern Illinois University. He is more clever than people give him credit for. He might not show you, but he knows when students are goofing off, cheating, or just not paying attention, but will never show you that he knows. He is very Knowledgable and will help you with anything if you ask!

Attendance isn't mandatory, but you better show up since he randomly gives points for in-class exercises. He's too friendly, and sometimes students take advantage of that fact. He allows cheat sheets on exams, so if you do them right, they're super simple. I'm an accounting major, not really sure if I learned a whole lot, but it was the easiest A ever.
