I don't typically review prof.s, but Dr.Cannon stands out. She is an old school teacher, on point, and very clear. She has a strong political voice, and really knows what she is talking about, especially in issues of Israel and National Security. I came to class, took notes, and participated, and walked out with an A.
Dr. Cannon is very passionate about politics and about this course. There is a lot of notes taking. She talks fasts and does not write on the board (only sometimes). There is no homework or writing projects. ONLY mid year exam & FINAL! Take great notes, listen carefully and read the book, and you will succeed. great Luck! ;p
One of the very few memorable prof.s I had at Northeastern. She is very passionate about what she does and wants you to learn as much as possible. You WILL work for your grade but you will be amazed at how much you learn. Like everybody here has already said, take notes and pay attention to details. Recording the class is not a bad idea either.
WARNING - Prof. Cannon's courses are not for slackers. Writing intensive exams that require detailed, thorough examination of the issues. She is highly supportive to all her students and will help in any way she can, but you will have to earn your grade! I did find that this course required a bit more textbook usage (and we had 3 books).
Knowledgeable, but if you are a student that has a learning disability that might cause you to have to use the learning resource center. If you are one of these students please take another instructor. She likes her students to take her exam in her class. great grade you can hope for is average if you take the exam in the resource center. |
