The World Peace Diet Explores Veganism as the Key to a Transformational Life

Philosophy meets spirituality meets science (conjoined with an ethical and historical viewpoint) is how to describe the meaningful read The World Peace Diet, written by Will Tuttle, Ph.D. This book stands as an advocacy for a vegan lifestyle transformation in an effective and positively enhancing way to benefit the planet and all it encompasses regarding its life-breathing inhabitants. The World Peace Diet is a number one bestselling book that proves to be a worthy addition to any thought provoking library, for better or for worse.

Dr. Tuttle, who served numerous years in the east as a monk, has sought the highest order of enlightenment, searching for answers to the human condition in accordance with our cultural and societal practices, and offers a compelling and liberating new understanding of our food and, as a result, our culture. The World Peace Diet has been labeled as one of the most important books of the 21st century, and is regarded as the foundation of a new society, based on the (at times) thought-provoking truth of the interconnectedness of all life. It is the first book to make explicit the complex and oftentimes webbed, yet invisible, connections between us and the source of our broad range of health, environmental, and societal problems. Tuttle also presents an accomplishable path to a positive transformation in our individual and collective lives. complete with listed resources and contacts to follow up on toward the back of the book.

This is not a book that centers on going vegan for strictly personal health reasons. Instead, we are invited to explore such deep matters, such as how the long ongoing system of patriarchal religion and scientific license has given way to the reinforced practice and belief that control and exploitation of creatures starts within our own societies, and extends to the other creatures within our proximity. One example is shown in that the same oppression and exploitation of women, practiced by the ruling elite, is practiced on other life forms, such as domesticated farm animals raised for human consumption and profit. The domino effect of physical and spiritual downfall that is plaguing earth's human inhabitants is shown in the webbed entanglements of human beings that seek power and financial gain pitted against the defenseless and consumerist entrapments of modern-day living, with all life suffering as a result.

As much as this book on the whole is a well-rounded and researched theory, there are some points made that not every reader is going to be convinced about. For instance, Tuttle at one point makes the claim that Jesus was most likely a vegan in his time. Nonetheless, if one can get past a few questionable hypotheses, then the sum on the book's parts will most likely make up the difference.

Tuttle proves to be a well thought-out and passionate voice for positive change in an era of illness, environmental degradation and strife. The panacea of aide that always returns to the picture is adopting a vegan lifestyle for the benefit of all inhabitants on Earth. An added bonus for those concerned about the environment is that this book is available as a 6"x9" soft cover read of over 350 pages, printed entirely from recycled material by Lantern Books.
