My Hookah Review

The Independent staff held their annual holiday party last month at My Hookah Café at 5806 N. Lincoln Avenue. The venue had a welcoming atmosphere and despite the fact that I don't smoke, I still enjoyed my time there thanks to the varied entertainment options.

One of the more appealing aspects of the place was its "potluck" policy. By making reservations you are allowed to bring your own food and drinks. The place will ask, however, that you don't bring cups, as they charge for individual cups in order to make some level of profit. Nonetheless, the prices are reasonable and having your friends bring their best dishes without anyone having to worry about lending their place for the get-together makes for a great night out.

Aside from the vast selection of tobacco and relaxing atmosphere, My Hookah Café also provides its customers with large screens constantly playing global music which help set the mood for the activities taking place. Furthermore, little trivia machines are stationed around every booth, which contain surprisingly entertaining and challenging games at a dollar apiece. There also were these cushioned nooks that could be draped over to allow more privacy if needed.

Overall I highly enjoyed my time at My Hookah Café. I'm sure if I had a passion for smoking as most of the people who attended did, I would have gotten the most out of my experience. However, the well-ventilated room complete with trivia and BYOB made sure that even I, an avid non-smoker, enjoyed myself.
