The College of Arts and Sciences received a donation from the Sidwell Company on Feb. 1 to commemorate friendly relationships between the company and our school.
The Sidewell Company has been providing overhead pictures of geologic and urban sites to NEIU’s Aerial Photography Interpretation class for several years now, and in return NEIU has provided Sidwell with qualified students ready to benefit the field of aerial photography.
Professor Mussa Guteb was present along with College of Arts and Sciences’ Dean Wamucii Njogu to receive Sidwell representative Gary A. Lobdell’s donation of a current aerial photograph of Northeastern’s campus. Taken at 5,000 feet, the picture shows the entirety of the campus as long as parts of the surrounding neighborhoods. The picture will be displayed at a currently undisclosed location.
Relationships between Sidwell and NEIU continue to be beneficial to the learning environment at our school.
“The collaboration between industry and education is extremely important,” said Professor Musa Quteb regarding the relationship between NEIU and the Sidewell Company.
The donation will be featured at a location on campus where the student body can benefit from it’s exposure.
