Spotlight on NEIU Fashion

Yes! Finally NEIU, everyone is back on their game. There are only two months left in the semester and the eye-catching styles have been on point.

Ladies have been spotted with trendsetting styles while men have been rocking a preppy, clean-cut look. Check out these sizzling unique styles of our very own NEIU students. Katerina, an international student, describes her personal style as simple but classy. Pairing her navy blue sweater dress with pantyhose and peep toe boots, she claims her style from Forever 21 and Nordstrom.

Next, we have Maria Torres. A complete opposite of Katerina, the communications major jokingly describes her style as “I wear whatever is clean.” She said she loves to be classy with street edginess and a little bit of rock and roll. Pairing her jeans with a soft t-shirt, a leather jacket and a roll-over scarf, she gets her complete look from American Apparel and her shoes from Converse.

Javier Chavez, also a communications major, is the total definition of clean and properly groomed. Posing for the Independent Newspaper, he describes his style as “pertaining to my mood; one day I’m grumpy, another day I’m classy. It’s all about how I wake up.” Want to look like Javier? He gets his jacket, t-shirt and belt from Macy’s and his jeans from The Gap.

Sun Xiao is an Elite model and an international student from Korea. She makes wearing a trench coat and pairing it with Versace sunglasses, during 40 degree weather, look chic. She describes her style as “very New York and unexpected.” Although her coat is from Scofield in Korea, a cheaper version was spotted at New York & Company for $80.

Bilalia Williams, a.k.a. “Lali,” is just as spontaneous as her style. A junior on campus, she claims not to dress her age. “I love living in the now and I am all about fashion, the make up and the shoes.” Rocking the short haircut, she makes wearing a fluffy dress in the winter a new fashion trend.

Also, we have John Antol, a psychology major who screams preppy from his neck tie to his Converse. Exuding confidence with his pink shirt and black sweater, he makes mix-matching colors look fun and easy to throw together. He got his shirt, tie and sweater from American Apparel, jeans from Levis and bag from The Gap.

Finally, Dania Saleh, brought a combination of professionalism, elegance and sexiness all in one. Wearing the infamous boyfriend blazer, she paired it with a navy blue dress, a blue studded belt and tights, and knee length boots from Steve Madden.  Also accessorizing with a neck piece from Tiffany & Co., she did not fail to pump up the hair volume and complete her overall style with a vintage bag.
