In celebration of Chicago’s Birthday and with a hopeful glance at the weather, this week’s recipe is Chef Bobby Flay’s Chicago Style Hot Dogs courtesy of www.foodnetwork.com. This is also the hot dog that is sold at Chicago’s sporting arenas, including Wrigley Field. Ingredients: Vienna hot dogs, charbroiledPoppy seed buns, steamed Mustard Green relish Onions, chopped and grilled Pickle wedges Ripe tomatoes, sliced Celery salt Hot sport peppers, optional Directions:
Place the hot dogs in buns, top with approximately a tablespoon of mustard relish. Next add onions, two pickle wedges, and four slices of tomato to each hot dog. Finally add a dash of salt and hot sport peppers if you like.
Ketchup is not traditionally put on a Chicago-style hotdog, so it is not included in the recipe.
