Neighborhood Science Fair at NEIU

On Saturday, April 18, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., the Society of Physics Students are hosting Neighborhood Science in the University Commons and Science Building. In conjunction with the Museum of Science and Industry’s “Science Chicago” program, this is year-long set of activities and demonstrations being done throughout the city. The purpose is to expose families and children to many different sciences, and let them explore how the world around them works. There will be contributors from all over the city, and several other universities participating with seminars, demonstrations, and activities. There will also be a Science in Art gallery and contest, where students and community members can enter art pieces that either relate to science, or were created by some scientific means – they’ll be displayed and voted on by the visitors to the fair. Winners will receive gift certificates to Blick Art Materials, and several other possibilities. Attendance to Neighborhood Science is completely FREE!
