Many students know and understand how hard it is to prepare for school and registration. Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU) is one of the few colleges in the Chicago area that still uses the Touch Tone Registration System (TTRS), but look to the future, Online Registration is on its way. The days of busy TTRS phone lines are coming to an end, and the convenience of all your personal information and easy registration is just a keyboard away, according to Dr. Janice Harring-Hendon, Executive Director of Enrollment Services.NEIUport will be used for more than just accessing students email and all the latest news; there will be a new tab added for students to access registration, and much more information. The online registration process has been an ongoing process and took a lot of work from various hard working students, faculty and staff to be able make this new transition a success.The online registration is scheduled to start on Monday, March 3, 2008 and TTRS will end. “Not only will students be able to register online but they will be able to access all of their personal information,” says Dr. Harring-Hendon. Before the students get started with accessing their information, they must first set up a NEIUport account. The way a student sets up their account is through the NEIU main page and launches the NEIUport Internet portal.
