NEIU’s Theatre Department brings a couple of short plays: Joe & Stew’s Theatre of Brotherly Love & Financial Success by Jacquelyn Reingold and Oedi by Rich Orloff, to The Studio Series at 1:40 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 5 and 7 Series in room F-109. Joe & Stew’s Theatre is a story about two cockroaches that are the only survivors in an off-off Broadway theatre after the bomb drops. Oedi is a one act farcical retelling of the Oedipus Rex story, touching on the fact that if Oedipus married his mother, she would have to actually be old enough to be his mother. Directed by Northeastern alumni Christopher Leonard, auditions will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 8 and Wednesday, Jan. 9 from 1:40 – 3:00 and 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Stage Center will also be having its First Annual Communication, Media and Theatre Juried Film Festival on January 24, 2008.
