Harry Potter

Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollows is allegedly the final book of the Harry Potter series and as soon as the movie is released it will be kicked out of pop culture faster than K-FED from Britney’s mansion.

This series is far from becoming a classic work of literature. It lacks the work involved as in many adventure series that have come before it such as the Lord of the Rings Trilogy and the Star Wars Series. Within the seven books one for each year it can be expected that the reading level would increase, yet the first book is just as easy to read as the seventh with the exception of an increase in the boring explanation of every characters feelings at every moment the book goes on. The book is very entertaining and does a lot to increase reading, yet it does little to progress literacy.

Scholastics, a publishing company that prides itself on educational materials, is publishing a book that the top three characters are high school dropouts. (Sorry for stating the obvious.) It seems J.K. Rowling is not interested in getting out of the U.S. an addition to her story line, but is counting the dead presidents going into her bank account.

The killing of useless characters for the hype of the book was also quite prevalent in the final of the series.

J.K. Rowling ties this series up in a not so neat little package leaving the reader guessing about minute details. The book is rushed probably to keep up with the demands of Hollywood which is sad because so much of anything is based on the first and last of anything.

Harry Potter got off to a great start in the first few books but when rushed and pressured the final book lacks depth and finality not in the story but in missing pieces to the puzzle; those little nagging things that just do not make a whole lot of sense even though they are not part of the big picture it is something that is important.
