All students should take precautions and not put themselves at risk, whenever possible. Public Safety cautions that students should be aware of their surroundings and environment while on campus. Just knowing someone does not mean that they cannot cause harm.

It is important to remember to inform people where you are, how you can be reached, and what you will do in case of emergency. Having a safety net in place is a safety precaution that will hopefully never be necessary, but could come in handy in a tight spot.

As a reminder, Public Safety is on call 24 hours a day. Students should feel comfortable asking them for assistance in any legal or safety related matter.
