Ghost Hunter’s Guidebook

Whether you want to document your own ghost or find things to validate that there is something more to this life. It is not as easy as TV will make it seem. That is why a quality guidebook on conducting paranormal investigations is important. There are many books on the subject with different angles and ideas. Troy Taylor has fifty-two titles that he as authored on the subject of ghosts and the paranormal.

Troy Taylor’s Ghost Hunter’s Guidebook focuses on the scientific. Going through different theories and instruments used to document, discover, or debunk (discover a natural reason for what was thought to be paranormal activity.) The Ghost Hunter’s Guidebook has extensive historical information on the beginnings of ghost hunting, and of much of the equipment used such as cameras and recording devices.

He makes it clear that this is a field of study based on theories and what he has put in this book is, “Not the final word on the subject.” This book is titled as a guidebook and Troy Taylor makes sure to let you know this is a guidebook and not a handbook that needs to be followed in it’s entirety. He also notes options to some of the more expensive detection equipment and different ways to obtain the same or similar results. Nothing is able to replace good investigation techniques according to Troy Taylor. Fancy equipment does nothing if it cannot be properly used.

The Ghost Hunter’s Guidebook is not a great classic work of literature, but it is entertaining, and jam-packed full of quality historical and particle information to aid in higher quality investigations. The paperback does not look like much of a read, with small font and not many photos. It is a lot longer than it looks and makes this book worth the read.

The Ghost Hunter’s Guidebook will get you started to that great adventure in researching the unknown. As Troy Taylor said in the Ghost Hunter’s Guidebook, “The most important tool in any [paranormal] investigation is the ghost hunter. They should first fine tune his or her own skills and knowledge before ever attempting to conduct an investigation.” This book is a great way to start doing that.
