Greek Week

Greek Week is a week-long celebration of unity between the Greek organizations on campus. This year the week kicked off with a trivia contest on Monday. Theta Chi Omega took first place in that competition. Tuesday’s event was a karaoke contest where members of the Greek organizations gathered around a microphone and laptop in the cafeteria and sang a variety of songs together. On Wednesday there was a scavenger hunt, in which Theta Chi Omega obtained first place. To coincide with the 80 degree weather on Thursday, there was a cook-out. This cook-out had games, food and informational tables. The week ended with window painting in the cafeteria and a talent show in Alumni Hall.

The talent show consisted of the Greek organizations doing special dances called “strolls” and in some cases having a member of their organization perform a musical piece. The winner of the talent show was decided by audience cheer vote.

Nicole Ross of Alpha Kappa Alpha, who sang and played piano, came in third place. Maggie Champlin of Theta Chi Omega came in second place for her song performance. Omega Phi Beta took first place by performing two strolls. Gamma Phi Omega won the window painting contest. Theta Chi Omega won first place for Greek Week.
