Judith Dorothy Barbosa-Marhoum, 41, who worked as a secretary for the Department of Communications, Media, and Theater (CMT) since fall 2007, tragically passed away in a car accident on Jan. 16.
“Her ability to maintain a positive humane environment, not only for faculty but for students,” said CMT professor Tony Adams, will be something “Dorothy,” as she was known by faculty, will be remembered for. “She was worldly curious and passionate – a lively storyteller with a quirky sense of humor, a unique thinker with tremendous empathy,” said Professor Edie Rubinowitz.
Rubinowitz had a chance to sit in Dorothy’s seat and answered phone calls while looking for key cards that she was not able to find. “Now I appreciate her grace and poise that much more,” said Rubinowitz.
She is survived by her parents and other family members.
