On Tuesday April 14, Northeastern Illinois University had guest speaker Dr. Michael J. Cuyjet speak about black men in college and promote his book “African-American Men In College.” The event was is in collaboration with African-American Studies and Academic Development.
Cuyjet’s presentation was tried to encourage black men to stay in college and inform others to encourage black men to stay in college. He encourages black men to come together and form peer groups during their college career. He also said that NEIU and other schools need to recruit more black men.
