SGA loses two members and gains one

Two Student Government Association members resigned at the Feb. 5 meeting. Melina Rodriguez was vice president and secretary and will be replaced by Paul Harris and Eunjoo Yoon-Meinhardt respectively. Rodriguez is resigning to focus on other passions she has on campus.

Senator Al Cordero resigned his position, sighting academic conflict for his resignation. Cordero wanted to focus so he can graduate in 2011. Brendon Haynes, member of GLBTA, was appointed as a senator.

“I really enjoyed my time here,” said Rodriguez. “I am leaving the SGA to focus on something that I am more passionate about, which is the mentoring program through the First Year Experience.”

Haynes, a transfer student, is filling one of the open slots in the SGA senate. A postponement of another senate appointment took place because the potential appointee was not present at the meeting.

Harris, Yoon-Meinhardt and Haynes were sworn into their positions at the meeting.
