Walking Alone, Scottie Long’s Debut Album, is packed with moving lyrics and great original music. Within the technical side it sounds as though the album was recorded live. This can be expected from a low Budget Production. This fact does not take away from the listening pleasure.
It is an interesting novelty that adds character to the album. Not much consideration was taken in the order of the tracks. For example the last track Day Over Eighteen is the longest and slowest song on the album. Following Ease Your Pain a fast upbeat song and about a minute shorter, it makes Day over Eighteen seem much longer than the rest of the tracks even though it is only an average of thirty seconds longer. Since the invention of the Compact Disc not many people listen to albums all the way through anymore.
Ease Your Pain is worth the price of the album. It is simple yet very well written. The harmonica really adds to the song. What I asked For is another track to look out for the instruments are symphonic.
The album has its pitfalls, although they do not take away from the music and in some cases enhance the Scottie Long experience. There is great music on this debut album and Scottie is an artist to keep your eye on. Very few local artists have his imagination and musical grace. Scottie Long has proven himself as an excellent songwriter. Hitting all the right buttons for a successful career.
