Ten NEIU students from the Politics Club and Honors Society worked on muliple tasks in rebuilding homes in Pearlington, MS. Included in these tasks were working in the kitchen, texturing, laying floors, sheetrocking, putting up drywall and cleaning. The work was in response to Hurricane Katrina, which occurred 19 months ago. Most volunteers at the Pearlington Recovery consisted of church and school groups. Stand by for further information in the next issue on the stories and lives of those left behind by the hurricane.
