Five student organizations have been reactivated after 26 of them were deactivated due to missing “basic training” sessions required by the Student Activities Office in September.
The five reactivated clubs include the Financial Management Association, the Justice Studies Club, Hillel, the Student Council for Exceptional Students, and the Sociology Club, according to Student Activities.
According to the Students Activities Office, one deactivated organization, Accounting Associates, is pending an orientation on Nov. 10. Another three groups need a new club orientation, 13 have no charter renewals or basic training and are still considered inactive, and the remaining four haven’t been active for more than a year and have been removed from the reactivation process.
“We called the former presidents of the deactivated organizations, and the ones that responded to tell us that they did elect new officials and gave us the contact information for the new presidents, we were able to start their reactivation process,” said Tony Courier, programming consultant of Student Activities.
Courier continued to say that if the Student Activities Office does not hear back from the deactivated organizations, they are still inactive.
