Out on a school night

Located in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago, House of Sushi and Noodles is a haven for sushi enthusiasts who don't want to break the bank.  Known for their sushi buffet, it is the perfect treat for college students at only $15.95 per person, not including tax.  $5.00 is charged per person for any roll left on the plate.  The buffet includes miso soup and a vegetable tempura appetizer.  Do not be confused with the lack of an actual buffet line, because the best part about this buffet is that they bring it to you.  If buffet is not the way you roll (no pun intended) they also offer a regular menu. However, opting out of the buffet does not allow you to share with those on the table who do have the buffet.

You can choose from a buffet menu filled with 50 fresh varieties of sushi rolls or their regular menu which includes appetizers such as edamame, gyoza, and crab rangoon and kitchen entrees like chicken or salmon teriyaki.  Some of their popular sushi rolls include spicy California maki, spicy tuna maki, and tuna avocado maki. 

With walls covered with photos of smiling sushi patrons, House of Sushi is not fancy in any way. However, it makes for a very casual dining experience.  The narrow hallways and narrow gaps between tables unfortunately result in a very packed and crowded space, especially on a Friday night. They do not take reservations but instead have established a ticketing system that allows guests to hold on to a ticket with a number that is called upon when a table is available for your group or party.

House of Sushi has a very fast-paced order turnover and requests buffet patrons to order two sushi rolls on their first order.  While not the ideal, quiet romantic dinner setting for couples, House of Sushi and Noodles is where friends, family, co-workers or possibly you and your new acquaintance can hang.
